Telework/face-to-face balance

The balance between remote work and face-to-face work, also called “hybridization” or “hybrid remote work”, refers to the way in which an organization manages the distribution of work between employees performing their tasks remotely (teleworking) and those who work physically on company premises (face-to-face). This approach aims to combine the benefits of remote work, such as flexibility and reduced travel, with those of in-person work, such as in-person collaboration and access to corporate resources.

The telework/face-to-face balance can vary depending on the needs of the business, the functions of the employee and the nature of the tasks to be performed. This may be a fixed distribution, such as one or more days of remote work per week, or a more flexible approach, where employees decide when and where they work based on their needs and responsibilities.

The goal of a telework/in-person balance is to maximize productivity, employee satisfaction, and business performance by taking advantage of the benefits of both ways of working while minimizing potential disadvantages, such as social isolation or communication difficulties. It is critical that businesses establish appropriate policies and practices to facilitate this transition to an effective hybrid work model.
